DISPUTE RESOLUTION
EXPERT WITNESS
Townsend and Renaudon operate in accordance with the RICS document "Surveyors Acting as Expert Witnesses: Practice Statement".
We carry out inspections and prepare Expert Witness Reports for use in connection with Construction Disputes and for construction related disputes in personal accident and insurance claims.
We act as Expert Witnesses in litigation in the Technical and Construction Court, County Court and Small Claims Courts.
We are also fully compliant with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
ADJUDICATION
We offer expert and professional advice in connection with the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1998 ("The Construction Act") as amended by the Local Democracy Economic Development and Construction Act and prepare, defend and manage disputes referred to Adjudication with a high success rate and an excellent reputation for solving problems which cause construction disputes.
ARBITIRATION
In addition to Adjudication we undertake arbitration proceedings in many fields of construction and engineering activities. We have an excellent reputation for sound professional expert advice and impartiality.
MEDIATION
The Practice offers a less costly and less stressful form of dispute resolution in the form of Mediation. Our surveyors are experienced and chosen for their speciality expertise in building and construction related matters and regulated by the Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors.We offer a high level of customer service, impartiality and sound professional and contractual advice.
CLAIMS AVOIDANCE & ADVICE GENERALLY
We offer expert advice to our clients on contract and sub-contract terms and conditions. This sound advice before signing a contract can often avoid or minimise disputes at a later stage.
We prepare bespoke contract documentation for construction, engineering and plant related projects to suit the individual procurement needs of our clients.
We also offer a service of monitoring contract correspondence and potential disputes as to ensure early, prompt and decisive action is taken in order to prevent issues becoming problems or developing into major financial burdens.
Additionally, we prepare and defend contractual claims, irrespective of size and complexity and our early involvement has saved clients significant amounts and alleviated the stress and burden that claims can put on people.
